PDOC Success Story
	Challenge
	In line with the aggressive plans to facilitate the data management in oil companies, MCS identified a project for PDOC (PetroDar Operating Co. -Sudan) on “How to maintain the drilling data?” MCS was chosen to implement a Drilling Data Management solution for PDOC.
	We were faced with the following challenges
		The traditional drilling morning report does not include all drilling data. Historical well data was hard to capture from hardcopy documents. Data exists in many formats (ASCII, Excel, Word, pictures and hardcopy documents) Communication between computers on rig sites , base and office was difficult to establish. Users are located in different locations (field, main office and overseas)
	Solutions
		MCS was responsible to manage the project from collecting historical well data, data entry, Data Quality Control, installing the system ,training the personnel, helping the personnel in generating reports, End of Well Reports, analyzing the performance and designing new well drilling programs.
	The solution focused on four main phases
		Training
		Requirements Moderate computer knowledge and experience using spreadsheet software like MS Excel and sending emails through the internet.

	Data Entry
		Requirements
		Genesis DES is used for Historical well data. MCS DRRS is used on rig sites to capture ongoing well data. Communication facility (Email System or Intranet) was established for transferring the daily drilling data from rig sites to the base & then to the office. Reasonable Hardware configuration was required to run both Entry systems.
		Benefits
		Capturing large amounts of rich data that were not captured before. Capturing large amounts of high accuracy data. Continuous update of drilling data at the office. Generating detailed drilling reports on a daily basis. Easier Data transfer from rig sites to the base & the office. Storing Data on a digital media & avoiding hardcopy loss or damage. Faster access to complex data.
	Well Design
		Requirements
		Genesis Designer is used for well programs design.
		Benefits
		Using offset well data from the historical database, new well design is more realistic. Design is made on company standards & real setup. Building realistic progress charts through statistical work & historical performance. Predicting reasonable cost chart based on historical well data.
